A paradise in distress
The village of Assinie Mama in Ivory Coast
Help us support the local people!
An isolated peninsula
Assinie Mama belongs to the Department of Assinie-Mafia.
Assinie Mama is a peninsula that can be reached by boat in approximately one hour, or by car via a very long detour through the neighboring country of Ghana—a route involving all the associated bureaucratic inconveniences, such as police checkpoints, customs clearance, taxes, and so forth.
"A paradise - apparently"
Let's build a better future
Assinie Mama, a village in Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) near the border with Ghana, is in urgent need of our support.
Together with the surrounding villages, approximately 17,000 people live there under difficult conditions, with only limited access to education and medical care. Children and women, in particular, depend on our assistance.
This project wants to improve living conditions on the ground and create concrete opportunities for the future.

"Going to school - without fear of the bats"
Renovate the primary school
In Assinie Mama, around 100 children attend a primary school whose condition makes safe learning nearly impossible. The buildings are severely damaged: cracked and hazardous floors, a leaking roof, and missing or broken tables and chairs define the children's daily reality.
However, the biggest problem looms right over their heads: bats—which can transmit rabies—have taken up residence in the ceilings throughout the entire school building. Their constant rustling and falling from above instill fear in the children every day and massively disrupt classroom instruction.
When no teacher is present—a frequent occurrence—the children set out on foot for the five-kilometer journey to the nearest town in Ghana. There, they are forced to learn in a foreign language and under a different educational system. These interruptions jeopardize their chances of attending secondary school in Côte d’Ivoire—and, by extension, their future.
Despite all these challenges, the children show up every day. They dream of a school where they can learn in safety and simply be children without a care in the world.

What is urgently needed now:
- Roof repairs — protection against rain, moisture, and animals
- Floor replacement — safe, stable, and child-friendly classrooms
- New school furniture — tables and chairs that make learning possible again
- A healthy, rabies-free learning environment — free from the fear of bats

A school for about 100 children
The school has several classrooms, but they suffer from serious defects. The floors and ceilings have deteriorated due to high humidity and urgently need renovation to provide a safe learning environment for the children.

Rabies lurks in the ceiling
Bats living in the school's roof can transmit rabies, thereby posing a serious danger to the children. In addition, water seeps through the leaky roof when it rains, leading to the formation of dampness and mold.

The floor collapses
The school desks are no longer securely anchored. In addition, the floor presents tripping hazards, thereby posing a risk of injury to the children.

Mold on the ceilings
Sowohl in der Schule als auch außerhalb fließt Wasser bei durch das Dach und Schimmel setzt sich fest.

Door without functionality
The moisture is ruining everything.

Play equipment posing a risk of injury
There is a small seesaw and a slide in the schoolyard. However, the play equipment has become so worn over time that it is no longer safe for the children. They would be delighted to have new play equipment installed.
"Healthcare for everyone"
Renovating and Upgrading the Health Center

In addition to the school, the small health center in Assinie Mama is also in urgent need of support.
The health center lacks almost everything. Therefore, any assistance in the form of in-kind donations is welcome:
- ECG machines
- Ventilators
- Defibrillators
- Hospital beds
- Ultrasound machines
- Solar power systems (panels, inverters, storage)
Every donation strengthens medical care and improves the health of the entire community.

Massage Table as a Hospital Bed
The massage table donated at the time is used for pregnant women and women in labor, as well as for the injured and the sick.

2 hospital beds
The essentials!

1 hospital bed
Only the essentials! Not more!
"Giving Birth in Dignity"
A New Maternity Clinic
At present, every delivery takes place at the health center, where—regrettably—the midwife is forced to sleep on the floor under undignified conditions in order to attend to and assist women in labor.
The construction of a new maternity clinic would significantly alleviate the burden on the health center, ensuring that the health of mothers and babies is no longer at risk.
The following in-kind donations would be of great assistance:
- A gynecological examination chair
- An ultrasound machine
- An incubator
- A solar power system (panels, inverter, battery storage)
These donations make a direct, life-saving contribution.
